A number of projects have been developed over the years through Saskatchewan’s Farm and Ranch Water Infrastructure program.
The cost-shared rebate program is designed to assist agriculture producers in creating secure and sustainable water sources.
It was renewed for another five years under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2028.
The rebate program is available for eligible producers who are working on various water projects including dugouts, pipelines, and wells.
The maximum rebate is 50 per cent of eligible costs.
Eligible applicants can receive a rebate for more than one project, but cannot exceed a maximum of $75,000 over the five-year length of the Sustainable CAP program.
Projects must be fully constructed and operational for agricultural use before a rebate will be issued. No interim payments will be made.
